Investment Approach
Limited by design to a small group of investors, and with an account minimum of $ 500,000, assets are managed on a discretionary basis in separately managed accounts (SMAs), through a combination of ETFs, common stocks, and fixed income instruments of US and global companies and government entities. The overarching objective is to achieve double-digit, risk-adjusted returns with low correlation to traditional equity and fixed income investments. There is no lock-up: Investors have daily liquidity, and full, real-time transparency. Portfolios are rebalanced quarterly to realign with each investor’s risk and asset class guidelines.
JWS Capital Management , a Florida domiciled corporation. identifies and capitalizes on sustainable investment themes stemming from a propriety research model comprising strategic global macro market indicators. These themes inform the framework to determine the appropriate asset classes, sectors, and industries that guide asset allocation and security selection.
Each of the investment themes encompasses trends that typically extend beyond an economic cycle, and not only can generate alpha, but also can serve as a mechanism to mitigate economic cycle risk. The themes fall within broad categories.
· Demographic – These themes may include consumer spending patterns or changes in standards of living. An example is a rising global consumer middle class, which will greatly benefit the “BRIC” countries (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) and markets.
· Monetary – These themes comprise global central banks’ actions and responses to situations. Examples include quantitative easing by the European Central Bank (ECB), which has lowered rates to extreme levels that can affect multinational companies’ revenues, and rising US interest rates, resulting from stronger growth and rising inflation expectations. Paper currencies will become increasingly less valuable. Investors will want and expect "things" to support currencies.
· Long-Term Economic/Fiscal Policy – These themes encompass business and political cycles.
